Urheberrecht & Entfernung

This page explains how Trendlogik handles copyright and takedown requests. If you believe content on our site infringes your copyright, or if you need to report a rights issue, you are in the right place. We take intellectual property seriously and aim to resolve matters quickly and fairly.

What content does this policy cover?

This policy applies to all material published on trendlogik.de, including text, photographs, illustrations, graphics, video, audio, and data visualisations. It covers content created by our journalists, licensed from third parties, and reader contributions. Image rights are a particular focus: we only use photographs or illustrations that are either owned by Trendlogik, licensed under a recognised creative commons or stock licence, or used with explicit permission from the rights holder.

If you spot an image on our site that you believe has been used without proper authorisation, please let us know. We will investigate and, if necessary, remove or replace it promptly.

How do I report a copyright infringement?

Send your takedown request by email to copyright@trendlogik.de. Please include a clear description of the work you claim is infringed, the exact URL(s) where it appears on our site, your full name and contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on their behalf. We also need your physical or electronic signature. We will acknowledge receipt within two business days and begin our review.

To help us act quickly, specify whether the material is a single article, an image, or a collection of items. If you have a registration or reference number from a copyright office, include that too. Trendlogik will treat your request confidentially and will not share your personal information unnecessarily.

What happens after I submit a takedown request?

Our fact‑checking team, led by Miriam Bergmann (Ansvarig för faktagranskning), will verify the claim. They will check our usage rights, the licence metadata, and any correspondence we hold with the original creator. If the claim is valid, we will remove or disable access to the material within five business days and notify you in writing. We may also publish a correction or retraction, linking to our corrections policy.

If we believe the use is lawful — for example, because it qualifies as fair dealing or falls under a valid licence — we will explain our reasoning and may offer to negotiate a licence or attribution. You can then escalate your concern to our Chefredaktör, Andreas Klein, whose editorial decision is final. A written record of all such cases is kept for transparency.

How this works in practice

Imagine you are a freelance photographer who discovers one of your images in a Trendlogik article without a credit or licence. You email copyright@trendlogik.de with the URL and a screenshot of the image. Within a day you receive an acknowledgement. During the review, the reporter who used the image confirms it was downloaded from a free stock site that later changed its terms. The editor agrees the current licence does not cover our use. We remove the image, add a note to the article explaining the removal, and email you with our apology and an offer to negotiate a licence if we wish to republish. The entire process takes three business days.

What about fair use or exceptions?

Swedish and EU copyright law allow limited use of copyrighted material without permission for purposes such as news reporting, criticism, research, or education. Trendlogik relies on these exceptions only where we are confident the use is minimal, transformative, and does not harm the rights holder’s legitimate interests. If you disagree with our fair‑use assessment, please raise it with us — we will review the matter and, if needed, consult external legal advice. Our editorial policy sets out the standards our journalists follow.

Who owns Trendlogik and how is it funded?

Trendlogik is owned and operated by Trendlogik Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009) with its registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. The Swedish digital news publisher is part of this entity and is funded through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. As noted in our advertising and affiliate disclosure, commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. All sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled. For more about our ownership structure, see ownership & funding.
